Police Stopping Catastrophe During U.S. Marathon

(1)Every year, a marathon is held in Florida to raise money for military families
(2)About 8,000 citizens participated this year as well
(3)During the competition, a female driver named Christine Watts rushed over a roadblock she had set up for road control
(4)Officers waiting at the control point tried to stop him but failed, and Watts kept speeding to the bridge where the marathon was taking place

(1)Tony Shuk, a police officer who was waiting near the scene of the competition
(2)The radio says there’s a vehicle rushing through the perimeter
(3)Knowing she was the last line of defense, she took Watts’ car head-on and blocked it
(4)Both drivers were taken to hospital with major shocks, but they were not life-threatening
(5)Shuk is currently recovering and hopes to return as soon as he gets better
