The Ministry of National Defense conducts military training by writing a reflection paper instead of a bulletin board.

The Ministry of National Defense explained that it was decided to exclude physical training items such as jumping or walking in full gear from the military training of trainees, based on the judgment that the trainees’ physical strength has not yet been sufficiently trained.

The Enforcement Decree of the Basic Act on Status and Service of Soldiers stipulates that ‘military training shall be conducted separately into mental training and physical training.’

Physical training methods are prohibited for trainees, so in the future, military training is expected to consist of mental training such as writing reflection papers and meditation.

The Army raised the authority to approve military training from the current company commander level to a battalion commander level or higher.

However, the Navy and Air Force decided to maintain the current guidelines due to personnel structure issues.
