I received a wedding invitation from a perpetrator of school violence at Blind.

hello.

As the title suggests, I received a wedding invitation from the perpetrator of school violence 17 years ago when I was in middle school. It was so absurd and absurd that I decided to write this to share this story.

The perpetrator committed serious school violence against me while I was a student at Gyeongpo Middle School in Gangneung in 2006-2007. To list them one by one, he made me run errands at the grocery store (the so-called bread shuttle), made me lie down on the floor, and then physically abused me by stepping on my face with his sock-clad foot in front of everyone. Even during class, he would ignore the teacher’s instructions and call me to his seat, telling me to give priority to his orders. There was also harassment, such as taking away my cell phone and sending text messages freely, saying that I should save my text messages, or forcing me to call myself every night and not hang up so that I would have to pay the bill. They also made him eat the corpses of grasshoppers that fell on the floor and his own spit. The violence continued for two years, from second to third grade, and was only relieved when I entered high school. I was almost on the verge of suicide, but I was able to endure it until the end, just looking forward to graduating from middle school.

I had forgotten the difficult memories and was living well, but the sudden invitation brought back memories of those times and made me very uncomfortable and confused. I couldn’t understand why he would invite someone who had bullied him to his wedding, or why he thought of him as a trophy from his past, and I thought it was psychopathic behavior. Moreover, the fact that the perpetrator was currently a serving police officer made me think that something was very wrong.

I was very confused at first, and as the conversation continued, I decided to ignore it and move on, and didn’t reply any further. But two days later, another message arrived asking, ‘Why are you chewing?’ At this point, I decided that this person was not normal, and I thought that if I didn’t give him some kind of shock, he would use violence in this way not only towards me but also towards other people, just as he had done throughout his life. Especially with my position as a police officer, I wondered what kind of monster I would become in the future.

So, I informed the bride’s family of this using the contact information written on the wedding invitation. There was no response, and later I received a threat from the perpetrator to sue for defamation. I have been sued by a current police officer, but no matter how difficult it is, I am confident that it will not hurt as much as it did 17 years ago. I will try to fight to the end as much as I can. Below is a screenshot of the KakaoTalk conversation with the perpetrator.

Thank you for reading this long post, and I hope you have a peaceful Chuseok holiday.

thank you
