Filter cleaning and replacement should not be done without visual inspection. It makes me think that Coway is playing with our drinking water.
Even if it’s annoying, be sure to check, and move on to another place when the contract period ends. I don’t trust it too much… I came to know this after reading several posts. I realized that it was the same case as mine, and that the way I responded was the same…
Coway, a company that can never be trusted…
For ten years, I rented several water purifiers and used Coway for bed mattress care and air purifiers.
Recently, just before I moved, I canceled the service because the mandatory usage period ended (June 24), and after moving, I wondered whether I should rent another device or replace the filter myself.
Not long after moving in (August 24), I opened the water purifier filter to see what it looked like. This is where the work begins.
There are a total of 3 filters, and one filter has a replacement date written in magic, and it says September 21.
1. Even if I had accidentally omitted it, it would have been immediately visible the next time I came to clean the water purifier or change the filter… I couldn’t understand why I didn’t know about it.2. Since I wasn’t watching during the exchange, it seemed like I secretly left without exchanging it, and even though other coordinators came several times after that, I think they did it systematically without knowing.
I looked up the post and found that there were several cases of Coway doing this. Moreover, the follow-up process was similar to my case in that it ended without contacting me and was just ignored.
3. I contacted customer service and explained the situation. He also sent me a photo. They also gave me the serial number of the filter that was not replaced.
4. Coway Customer Center said they would contact us again after internal review. What she later contacted her wife about was that it was Coway’s fault. They said they would refund 10-20% to other customers, but they would refund 50% from the day the customer was not exchanged. The filter was originally replaced every year and a half. So, it is said that replacement was missed once.
5. In the next call, I personally answered the phone and mentioned number 4 above and asked how special it was that they set it at 50%, and they said that they seemed to have misunderstood what I was saying and that they would refund 50% of the fee from the time they did not replace it.
6. It is clear that Coway does not want to take any losses. He said it had been almost a year and a half since his family had been drinking water without changing the filter… He was embarrassed and said he could not agree.
7. Coway customer center asked how much I wanted. In response to this, I asked him not to ask such questions, such as why I should tell him how much I asked for, and that I am not in a situation where I will give it to him even if he asks for tens of millions of dollars, and told me not to do it frequently, but to contact the responsible person directly, not you….
8. What the Coway customer center counselor said… Is it okay not to call? Then I replied that I would not call. Two weeks have passed and it’s quiet.
I think it’s a fun company. I think they’re making money with this. I think they sometimes leave out the filter if they think the house is not being inspected while inspecting. I can’t help but think this way. I opened the Coway water purifier once after using it for a long time, but it was embarrassing because the filter was plugged in from 3 years ago.
I wonder how much I must have suffered during that time. In particular, the customer service center’s processing method was clearly summarized to see if this is a common problem.
I plan to stop at least 30 places around me from using Coway, and I plan to take the time to organize the recordings, shoot videos, and send them to broadcasting companies.
It’s been so long since I’ve contacted a reporter I used to know that I feel uncomfortable talking about this… I also need to check to see if I can file a criminal complaint.
The water purifier is still maintained in the same condition… We need to maintain evidence, and we need to let many people know that customer service agents should not respond that way, and that Coway, which taught us that way, should not make money like this.
And, if you have to use a product from such a company, you must take care of the quality yourself. Any company that plays with food should go out of business.
