A summary of the school violence incident involving the children of Bundang City Councilor Seohyeon, the People Power Party nominated by Kim Eun-hye
This is an incident in which five 6th grade female students attending Seohyeon Elementary School in Bundang collectively bullied one female classmate from around April to June of this year. It was recently recognized as school violence. The Seongnam Office of Education already issued a ‘Notice of Action Decision’ on the 8th, recognizing four out of five perpetrators as school violence. Regarding the remaining person, no action has yet been taken due to insufficient evidence. In response to this, the victims say that all five people should be punished and that they are preparing an appeal, administrative judgment, and an administrative lawsuit.
There is currently controversy surrounding this issue, with so-called false facts circulating in various places such as blogs and mom cafes. We interviewed the victims’ guardians, the offender’s guardians, Seohyeon Elementary School, and the Seongnam Office of Education.
