A former taxi driver who used his car to rape and sexually abuse a twelve-year-old child has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.

Adam Ali, known as Rajwan Razak, targeted vulnerable girls in Rotherham between 2002 and 2004.

In 2010, Ali was sentenced to 11 years in prison after being found guilty on two counts of sexual activity with a child.

After serving his sentence, he was re-incarcerated in prison in 2021 and released in April 2023.

The National Crime Agency (NCA) said Ali was arrested a month after police were informed of his intention to go to Pakistan.

NCA lead investigator Stuart Cobb said he paid tribute to the victims of this case for their courage in telling their stories.
